| I received
"Wolf" at the age of three weeks, from a person, one would
consider a "backyard breeder." Since I teach obedience
classes, I wanted to own a dog that would challenge my training
ability. Needless to say, huskies are wonderful students,
which is NOT what I heard from numerous people I talked to.
Wolf has no papers, but that
doesn't stop me from loving her, she is the greatest dog I have ever
owned. I don't recommend this breed to just anyone, you have to be a
special kind of dog lover to own a Husky. You have to be VERY
patient since this breed tends to be stubborn at times, and will test you
constantly. Sometimes you can actually see them taking the time to
ask themselves why YOU are asking them to do something.
If you are a firm, but patient owner you will do well with this
breed.
They like to dig, run, howl
and bark, and love to be petted. They need daily exercise, walking
and running, but are rather docile in the house. Huskies need
someone that can take charge and are not normally a breed for the first
time dog owner, unless you know the breed. They can rarely be
trusted off-leash since they like to run.
